Hello, i was staying at a student accomodation last year and booked a room for this year fron the same student accomodation. I paid R1950 for booking which R950 was non-refundable admin and R1000 deposit which can be refunded. I went to the accomodation today to request for my R1000 deposit to be refunded but they are saying that they can not refund it because i booked a room for this year and it was stipulated that any deposit will be considered as cancellation fee since i did not move in to that accomodation. Is it possible to contest the stipulation as i did not sign any lease agreement for the room i booked?
