Question posted in the General Law category relating to Gauteng
Good day, please note I have worked for My company for 7 years. I have held a position of Business Development Manager in a Clearing and forwarding business, shipping.
I have signed the restraint of trade that says that I will not contact any of the Synergy's customers for the period of 12 months after I have finished working for my company.
The problem is my former customers have started contacting me because I am the only one that knows their product and they are not receiving any response from my former company.
I have even sent to the employees of my former company documents from the customers as the customers were saying nobody is assisting them.
I have informed them about the restraing of trade and they advised that they, as customers, have right to negotiate and check other service providers for the rates. My former customers stated that my previous company cannot make decisions for them who they can use. They can have as many service providers as they want to.
My current company has asked to please check this
Thank you
