Question posted in the Property Law category relating to Western Cape
My landlady gave me a month notice to move from her property. Me and my husband had a verbal agreement with her and her husband that we rent her seperate living space for a curtain amount. Water and electricity included. No time period for renting was discussed. Her husband had just recently passed away.
In December, end of week one, they went up with the rent and the new amount was due at the end of December. We did not argue and just paid the new amount. The rent was always due on the last day of the month and we made sure we pay on or before the due date. When we moved in we paid advance.
Two days after the landlord's funeral she tells me we must move end of this month with no reason. What can I do as I do not have any place to go.
