Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Western Cape
Hello,
Need a bit of advice to see if my issue with the non return of deposit is worth pursuing.
I moved into a property and signed a years lease. The lease came up from r renewal with a rent increase. We didn't want to sign another lease. In the end and addendum was made with the increased rent and a 2 month break clause. This addendum was never signed and I just assume it would be a month to month rolling contract. Needless to say we gave 45 days notice and moved out. Landlord has kept the whole deposit
Is my reasoning correct that it was a mont to month contract requiring a calendar months notice?
