Question posted in the Consumer Protection Law category relating to Gauteng
Good day. I paid for roof sheets from a company according to the invoice they had sent me. On the invoice it stated the sizes and lengths I required and because their quote was in my budget I went with that. We waited 10-15 days as they said and I received the sheets and checked according to their delivery invoice. Then they sent me a paid invoice to show that we had paid it with the necessary info. After the sheets have been installed and a week later, they picked up that the computer made an error with the square metres. So they understand it’s their mistake and will take out 50%, but we need to pay the other 50%.
However, we only went with them because that was the money we had, but now it works out so much more. Do we still need to pay this money? They can’t take the sheets back because it has already been installed. What can we do in this situation?
Regards
Ms Naidoo
