Good Day

I am renting a house on a shared property with the owner living on the property as well as another dwelling with tenants. We signed a lease agreement with an agency. From the start we have had problems, and the agency refuses to assist as they have only did the lease agreement and handed everything over to the owner. I will not go into any detail with the condition of the property, and when we ask for anything to be fixed we are accused of complaing about everything and if we are not happy we must just leave. of course we dont want to forfeit our deposit so we stay. We are living in nightmare conditions, we have an elderly mom living with us who is traumatised by the incidents happening here on a regular basis. The landlord has sent us a letter with lots of false accuations and threats, he sends us abusive whatsapps. We are required to share the utilities bill but he is not transparent enough to show us the bill in order for us to see the split and what we are paying for, and it increases every month. The very latest incident was last night at around 7am the power went off. They had been busy with some work on the pool so we have no idea what happened and the landlord did not even have the decency to come and tell us what was happening and what they were doing to fix it. My elderly mom and I were home alone at the time and there is no consideration for us at all.

We still have 8 months of this hell to endure, including this month of August. What can we do to get out of this nightmare and we are even ready to forfeit our deposit just for the sake of peace of mind.
