What actions should I take if I was wrongfully accused of theft at checkers store.

I went to checkers today to buy some of the things that were on special, one of them being salt Colgate toothpaste. I put the toothpaste in my trolley but then realised there was nothing indicating special on that shelve so before I went to pick other things I asked one of the employees to confirm if they are still on special and he told me that the toothpaste special is at checkers hyper only. I then decided to leave the toothpaste and everything else and took back the toothpaste to the shelve since I was still close to it. I then proceeded to leave shop since what I had come for was not there but at the door the security stopped me and took me to office to search me. I didn't understand why but I went since the store was full and I didn't want to be  embarrass infront of so many people.  I was searched and nothing was found on me or my bag and they told me I can leave....just like that. By that time people where already started looking and it was so humiliating. I then asked what was the reason for me being searched and the security who searched me couldn't answer and she said she didn't know why she was instructed to search me. Because I wanted answers she called one of the security and the security that was called was the one who "raised the alarm" on me and since nothing was found on me, instead of that security apologizing she started asking me where are the toothpaste that I had put in my trolley. I didn't understand that because they didn't find the toothpaste on me so that means they were left in the shop. She spoke to me so rudely as though I had actually committed the crime I was suspected or accused off and continued to ask me where are the toothpaste. I then started recording and one of the staff was being rude to me for recording and told me to leave as though I brought myself there. After humiliating me, instead of apologizing they added rudeness to it and after I was rudely told to leave I had to do the long walk of shame. The store was packed since there was special and people were looking at me. My eyes were filled with tears all the way home. I didn't even go to the other shop I wanted to go to.

Is there a legal action that can be taken against that?
