Question posted in the General Law category relating to Eastern Cape
Good day,
A property owner charged me a deposit of R3000. When I vacate the property, they refuse to pay back part of my deposit because I was moving to a property which is also owned by them. They charged me another deposit for the property that I was moving into. They also charged me a transfer fee.
I did not broke anything in the first property that I rented. Their renovation experiences was just painting. I am currently renting their premises and they have charging me renovation expenses for the past 14 months.
It is unclear to me the total cost of these renovations. I recently wrote a letter to ask for the breakdown of these expenses but still waiting for their response.
Is it possible for me to be paid my first deposit and stop the property owner to continuasly charge me the renovation expenses for the first Flat that I rented?
