Question posted in the Property Law category relating to Gauteng
Good Day
I have recieved the following letter via email
Please could you tell me if it is legal to fine me regarding this matter ?
as i was told by the property Mangment Angor that they would do my Rates Accout for me but they never did
Please see letter below
Dear Resident
Unit
RATES ACCOUNT NUMBERS
I refer to my previous letter. It has been noted that your Rates account number has not yet been provided to both Angor and REM in order for the application of your Pikitup refuse bin. Please note that your unit was handed over on the 1st December 2013 and the property registration went through soon afterwards. Its takes approximately 4-8 weeks for the rates account application to be complete. Pikitup will not supply bins until I can provide them with one rates account number per bin ordered.
Please send your rates account number urgently.
Please note a fine of R250 has been debited to your levy account for the non-submission of your rates account number. If this request is not observed and the rates account number is not submitted within the next 30 (thirty) days an additional fine of R250 will be debited directly to your levy account.
Kindest regards
