Landlord refuse to refund deposit (out of the blue) on 4th March, after satisfied outgoing inspection & sign-off on 2 March stating insuffiecent notice given.
Notice given: 36 Business Days (09 Jan - 29 Feb) verbally accepted by landlord.
Landlord on numerous occasions said he would renovate flat after vacating so no ploblem.
1. If clause in one year duration residential lease states written notice must be given to the tenant not <40 days & >80 days of expiry thereof & such notice not given & no new lease signed. Does the lease revert to month to month?
2. What is then the max duration of notice to cancel the lease agreement? (original lapsed lease states 2 calender months).
After requested, no statment received showing interest on deposit & no copys of incoming & outgoing inspections sighed off.
