Good morning,
I delivered work for the Western Cape Department of Education in September 2014. I invoiced for the work, only to hear that because of an internal investigations into irregularities in the Depatment I delivered the work for, the payment has been held back. I was informed that my due deligence was in order, and I am an 'innocent bystander' in this process.
Sadly, it is now April 2015 and my R20 000.00 invoice is still no closer to be paid. I have been sent from one person to the next, and have dealt with 8 different people on the matter - including the Director and Deputy Director in the Eden/Karoo District - with no resolution.
My questions are:
Can I proceed in a legal matter to recoup the outstanding funds?
Will I be able to recoup the legal costs for the WCED in pursuing this matter through legal representation?
Do i have any other way of recouping this money?
I run a non-profit company, and this non-payment has had a significant impact on our day-to-day operations.
Your advice would be much appreciated!
