Question posted in the General Law category relating to Gauteng

I sourced service of a building contractor to build three backrooms and agreed on the time frames for the completion of the project. The contractor promised to have the work completed by the end of January 2017 or the middle of February 2017 in respect of the snags.

It is now the middle of May 2017 and the building has not been completed and i have lost rental income on the backrooms from March 2017 to May 2017.

I have requested the contractor on numeral occassions to have the job completed as I am losing rental income and I am also taking a financial strain as I specifically took out a persoanl loan to have these rooms build.

The contract claims he is experiencing financial difficulties.

The agreed amount was for R83 000 for the full completion of the buildings. R75 000 was advanced and balance to be paid on completion is R13 000
