Question posted in the Consumer Protection Law category relating to Gauteng
I need to cancell vodacom contract and also want them to pay out for new computer.
Due to the poor signal on my property I have to run fromone room to another for reception. Unplugging ports ect
Now two of ports are broken. I send numerous complaints and nobody come back to me .

Hi there,
I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.
You are legally entitled to the cancellation of a fixed term contract, but Vodacom (the supplier) will be entitled to charge you a reasonable cancellation penalty. If you purchased the laptop on a contract, then the cancellation penalty would probably be equal to the balance of financing and interest.
If 2 ports are broken, that doesn't necessrily have any impact on your ability to cancel the contract or not.
