I have engaged a lawyer to issue a summons for me.
He is charging me R100 +Vat for every communication (eg email, phone call).
Then he charged me R235+ Vat per page for a 'particulars of claim' 8 page document.
The document was spaced out in a way, that my normal letters etc. would have only used 4 pages. Additionally, 1 Page merely was his address and contact details.
Apart from that there was a gross mistake in it.
Eg He cites that the first defendant (meaning me) gave the first defendant an ultimatum.
I (the plaintiff), gave the defendant an ultimatum. So there are mistakes, that a junior clerk should have picked up let alone high court counsel.
I am sitting with a R6000 bill and have zero confidence, as well as feeling that charges are being trumped up and exhorbitant.
I would like to know how to confront him, and possibly fire him now.
I am in another province, so a face to face meeting is not practical.
