Question posted in the Consumer Protection Law category relating to KwaZulu-Natal
i had a wedding on the 21st of october, my cake supplier that was doing the cake deliverd a raw and not the cake we spoke about during our discussions... she even went as far as sending me pics of the cake she was going going to deliver... she delivered some TOTALLY DIFFERENT, RAW AND THE CAKE started falling from the stand. the cake included 2 singles (for the bride and grooms family, 400 cupcakes), the cupcakes she delivered were +-50 we ended up not using the stand we hired for the 400 cupcakes, they were also gonna be used for desert, but that didnt happen... she is now giving me a run around... please help!!!!!!!!!!!! the total amount was R5000, she said she will only offer me 30% which i still think is unfair

Hi there,
I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.
In my opinion, the cake supplier breached the contract by not providing you with what you had ordered. It was not like she only gave you 190 cupcakes instead of 200, her breach was severe.
You are therefore within your rights to refuse to pay her for her "services".
