Hi. I finished my PGCE at Unisa end of 2018. I was told before the course that I do not meet all requirements and my application was declined. Apparently I needed to do English 501. The career councillor advised that I apply to do the English concurrently with the PGCE. When I went back to campus to enquire how to go about this, I was told after the clerk went to make a phone call to their head office, that I am accepted for the PGCE course, no questions asked! I registered and completed the course without doing the English. Now I am a teacher and Unisa doesn't want to release my certificate due to the English. I cannot be appointed permanently because of this. I liaised with them cause I need to know who approved the application and why no one told Mr in a year and a half that I did the course, that I must do the English. Can they withhold my certificate because a Unisa official made a mistake?
