Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Western Cape
Hi, my lease expired on 30/07/2019 and it states that I needed to give 3 months notice prior to the expiry date. However I put an offer in on a property purchased a property on 15/07/2019 and it was acceptd after which I told the landlord on 15/08/2019 that I will not be renewing my lease due to the fact that I bought a property. He wanted me to vacate by and of August 2019. Can he do this, is it legal as I have no place to go as the property transfer takes about 3 months.
