Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Northern Cape
Good day after 2years of renting a flat from my land lord she never presented me with a rental contract. We are 5 tenants in 5 flats the place is falling apart we pay our rent at the munisipality and not to her as previous months because shes in debt for a water account on her properties. I did make arrangements with her "although shes now denying any arrangements" that my rent payment will be late cause i only recieved my money late last night so i can only pay today. She did send me ass well as 2 other households eviction notes yesterday late afternoon that we must evict the flats by monday 2 dec. Im 42 single mother and all my flat neighbors are of colour. We even had to pay between R3700 and R4900 to get electricity boxes reconnected and did so 4 times the last 18 months cause municipality cut our boxes because of her debt at them. And she sended us the eviction note via Whatts App on the flat neighboor whatss app group. What is our rights concerning this matter?
