Question posted in the Property Law category relating to Gauteng
We got an email from estate agent to move from our home, because the illegal immegrants from zimbabwe living next door were giving us problems, we stood up for ourselves and we got a notice but not the illegal immegrants. We do not have a contract and we've been staying here for over a year now. Never been late on paying rent. Done no damage. We have always mind our own business. i feel they are discriminating. Hi there,
I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.
Unfortunately, the landlord is entitled to cancel your lease agreement on 1 months' notice because you have a month to month lease. So, discrimination doesn't really come into it. They are simply cancelling your lease. The reason for this, unfortunately, doesn't make a difference.
