Hi there, I visited a hairdresser in March for a consultation on my hair. I am biracial and as such have very curly and thick hair, at the time I was also wearing tape in extensions. During the consultation I asked her questions to ensure she was comfortable working with my hair type as well as the extensions which she assured me she was so we continued with the colour application. She put a treatment in my hair after the colour work and sent me home with the treatment still in. The following day I washed my hair and it was feeling a bit dry, as I started blowing out my hair, it started snapping off almost at the root, my extensions were also snapping. I contacted her immediately to advise her of what was happening and her response was that “Caucasian products” obviously didn’t work with my hair. I requested a refund for the money spent in her salon as well as new extensions as at the time they were only 4 months old. I didn’t understand how the “Caucasian” products didn’t work in my hair as my extensions are straight human hair and it had the same affect on them. After my visit to her salon I have not left my home, I am too embarrassed to go anywhere with my hair looking the way it does. I do modeling for extra income and have not been able to do that for months due to my broken hair. She had originally promised to refund me and has since then told me “good luck” with regards to getting any money back from her. Is there anything I can do legally to have this damage fixed. I have all of our messages saved.
