Question posted in the General Law category relating to Eastern Cape

Don’t know if this is the right direction. So here is my sisters story. She borrowed her boss R200 000.00 to buy out the business that they worked for. She was promised a share in the business. After a year he told her but he took out a policy for her and that would paid out when she is old. He kept on promising her and telling the business is not doing well to pay her back yet. Now they have send the documents on that he made her sign, which actually says he will pay her back in a way of policy. What is her grounds. She is married in community of property and her husband didn’t sign the document?

Hi there,

I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.

I don't know why she signed the document if she didn't read it, or understand it. There might be a way to set the document aside because she didn't know what she was signing, but it could be a long shot.

Also, the fact that her husband didn't sign it (even though they are married in community of property) unfortunately doesn't affect anything.
