Hi

I am seeking legal advise on behalf of my father in law

His mum passed away and in her will left a house to him

However the granny flat on the same property - the will states that his sister can stay in the granny flat for the rest of her life free.

Is this a Usufruct and is this valid in a will as it is for a part fo the property?

Can the main house be sold and how ?

thanks

Hi there,

I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.

It does sound as if that is a usufruct. It is normally granted in terms of a Will, so it seems to be normal in your situation.
