hi i rented a commercial property approx 6years ago, 24 months ago the property was sold and the new landlord supplied me with a acc number where the rental should be paid ,i was however never invoiced so the rent was never paid. i had at that stage never spoken to the new landlord or entered into lease agreement with him.the account was handed over to a debt collector and i signed a admission of liabillity agrement as i figured i had occupied the premises.the debt is now paid but there is a large amount of interest my question is,are they entitled to charge interest if there was never any agreement in the first place, and secondly would signing the liability agreement extend to the interest many thanks
