Good morning 

We have been renting a property for about two years now on a verbal agreement and we are We have been renting a property for about two years now on a verbal agreement for R2500

In the middle of last year we saw it fit to increase the rental amount to R3000

The landlord passed away about August and his wife has now taken over

We have just been given a written lease whereby the rent has now been increased to R5000 + R1500 for water and electricity totaling to R6500 from the first of February. 

Is she allowed to do this??
