Good day

I need some advice regarding a labour matter please. I would liek to know if it is legal for a manager to involve HR in a matter where he states that the employee's perfomance at work is poor if the manager himself has never had a conversation with the employee advising him of this? Also, is it legal for a company to lock employees out if the employee is 5 minutes late for work and tell he employee to just wait outside the premises until he ( trainee manager) deals with them even though the employee did advise her manager that she will be late.
