Question posted in the General Law category relating to KwaZulu-Natal
Good day,
I would like to find out what my rights are with regards to my employer trying to pressure me into taking a role without providing a job specification or a document with the listed job responsibilities. I work in IT and I was invited to a meeting in which an HR representative, the CIO and another employee where they tried to pressure me into taking on a role in a new team, I did not agree to taking it and asked to be sent a job specification listing the responsibilities. I then escalated this to my line management who in turn escalated to the HR representatives manager. They have now invited me to a follow up meeting in which they will be doing a presentation of what the role is. However when my line manager and I asked for the job spec so I can go through it before the meeting they refused to share it.

You do not need to accept the new role.
