Question posted in the Consumer Protection Law category relating to Western Cape
I've hired a draughtman to draw the necessary plans and to submit it to the Municipality for approval.
1. They didn't meet deadlines
2. Told me they submitted the plans but never did
3. They caused a delay of two months and more.
4. The council rejected their plans because it is wrong.
Can I hold them responsible for the extra costs I now have because of the delay? For example I am renting month-to-month until my house is done. Because of the delay they caused I now can't move in and have to pay extra rent.
