Hi,

We've recently moved some of our stuff from Johannesburg to Jeffreys Bay and slept over at a B&B in Bloemfontein. I have a new business and had my 2 phone and laptop with me. We ordered Mr Delivery Food and in the time that we walked to the gate and back to the room my Laptop and 2 phones was gone. We immediately reported it to the owner and manager of the guesthouse and also called the police. The owner was of no help and almost made it seem that it is impossible. The police was on the scene about 2 hours later and took our statements and opened a case, They also said that this kind of thing happens alot in the area.

The owner said he will speak to the neighbors about it was clear that who ever stole the items came from that side as there was step ladder against the wall towards his side and another one onto a tank in the neighnors yard that gave easy access to a open yard at the back and a back ally.

Tyhe next morning we've went to the neighbor ourselves to ask if there is nothing on their cctv system and then was told that they don't know what to do anymore because of all the breakins and problems they have with people entering their yard from the back. Owner of Guesthouse assure us it was the 1st time and that this never happens.

After a few weeks no of hearing nothing and my insurance refusing to pay as the items are not specified and was not stolen from my own vehicle or premises I contacted the owner of the guesthouse again to enquire about whether he has all risk insurance which my own insurance suggested and he just said no.

My business is at a stand still and I don't have R30000 and R20000 to buy a new laptop and 2 phones. According to me there must be a way that this have to be on the owner as he needs to protect my items.
