Question posted in the Criminal Law category relating to Free State
Good day
My son was arrested on the 3rd of feb 2023 (last Friday evening) on suspicion of rape.
He has been charged the following day and remains in custody untill his court appearance tomorrow (06/02/2023)
We have not been able to secure the services of an attorney here in Hennenman, Freestate. I would like to know if it is possible to personaly talk to the prosecutor and what I should say, as my son is hearing impaired and mentally slightly retarded.
I fear he will not do well in detention witj his disabilities. furthermore, would I be able to adress the court? Is it a good idea? I urgently need help.
Regards
