Hello,

I am a South African citizen and I have moved back to South Africa from the UK to work. I moved on the 15th January 2024 and have 90 days in the country. Within this time I have tried to get an ID card and apply for a new passport as my other South African one has expired. However, I have been informed that I need a parent with me in order to get my ID card (even though I am 22 years old) and even provided birth certifcates as proof. I was also then informed that I cannot apply for a new passport without an ID card. My mother is in the UK and cannot come out until mid April and this is when my visa runs out. I have looked at extending my visa but I have read that this needs to be completed at least 60 days before your visa expires, I have 47 days until mine expires so I'm not sure if this is possible anymore?
