Hi
I asked my landlord to amend my lease agreement from the 1st to the 15th to enable me to pay on my paydate. I signed the contract in the first month of my employment and I was not aware at that time that it is only in your first month that you get paid at month end. My request was denied and I was told to vacate the premises which I tried to do but found that for the months that I'd been paying, I'd been listed as a part-payer on their tenant management system which was not true. This bad payer feedback meant that I could not find anyone to give me a new lease.
Long story short, I am unable to pay by the 1st, I'm barely able to eat at that time, and my landlord does not care. The one month, they switched off my lights for the two weeks, I had to send my kids to live somewhere else and I had to throw away food i cant even afford. The following month after that, they did not switch off the lights, life carried on until I asked for maintenance work and they flat refused, I had to pay an electrician myself to fix the electricity meter that caught fire due to the faulty stove, and now i'm told to pay by the 4th. Where is the consistency? Surely they cannot handle me any way they like?
