Good day
We have a domestic worker who worked for us for 15 years. She already finished working and she is going on retirement. We gave her a bonus but she went to the UIF to complain about a long service pay out. Are we liable to pay for this? We paid her UIF but as she is leaving on her own free will will she be able to claim UIF? We as the employer want to know what is our rights

Hi there and thank you for your question,
Unless you have a written contract with your domestic worker that says that she will be entitled to a long service pay out, there is NO legal obligation on you to pay her anything above her normal salary and annual bonus.
If she is retiring normally, she can't claim UIF. UIF is for situations where she was retrenched and/or stopped work for some other reasons. If the UIF office contacts you, explain that she is retiring.
Don't let her threaten you with the CCMA or something like that. You've done nothing wrong and don't need to pay her anything extra!
If there is a part of the answer which you need more advice on, or clarity please continue in this same thread instead of opening a new question.
