Hi I'm asking on behalf of someone..... so my uncle asked signed for a 6 month lease contract whereby he had paid r13000 deposit and r15000 rent which equals to r28000ytr he had to pay when they moved in. There was no privacy as owners brother lived in the seperate entrance at the back and my uncle sent the guy a msg to say he would like to terminate his contract as my uncle initially asked for a 3 month contract and gave more then 20 days notice they moved out  beginning of June and he still paid for the month of June. I want to know if they are allowed to keep his deposit as he had two months left of his lease as they now telling him he owes them 2 months rent
