Goodday

I applied for an apartment with a friend last year in October, but because i had other unexpected fianancial obligations recently. I informed her 3 months prior that i would be moving out of the apartment. i Then sent a formal notice to the landlord and her included via email stating that i would be vacating the premises and i will pay the cancellation fee. She then responded by saying that i cant move out of the apartment beacuse she doesnt want to move out. Does this force me to to pay rent even thou i served notice?
