Hallo I recently  contacted  the municipal building inspector  for our area, Parsonsvlei. She is also the inspector  that signed  the occupation  certificate.

We bought this property in 2022 with no handrails and the agent could not give a reason why. First owners.I then in March of 2023 requested my building plans to see the water lines, I noticed that there should've  been steel rails installed.I emailed the conveyance  attorneys of the property to  email the developer. He   replied no hand rails are needed as it was signed off by building inspector  that said its not needed  and approved  occupation certificate. This has been going on back and forth for a year he blatantly  refuses to comply.

The municipal  building inspector came to my house to inspect and said she cant believe that this was signed  of as she would never have done this. She said she is going to pull the building plans from the archive to see. She contacted the developer to instruct him to install the rails. The email I received  back from her,  he is still refussing to install it and is arguing SANS10400.  I was also not cc into any emails between the inspector  and developer. He emailed me back on the 11th of July and said he is closing the file on this as he will not be installing rails.

I emailed the inspector again to ask what is going to be done about this as he can't just ignore the fact that he is not complying with the building regulations and this should never have been signed  off for occupation.

She is not replying to any of my emails from yesterday or today.

This is 4 units form the same developer all with no rails.Dimitri Zenios property developers. And all signed  off for occupation.

Please can you assist in this matter
