Question posted in the General Law category relating to Eastern Cape
Hi we have 2 girls going to the same school. We had an verbal agreement I will pay the ones school fees and she will pay the others. It recently came to my attention that she never paid the school and that the school handed over the account to attorneys. I applied to the school for both admissions as she was doing the same thing of not paying the schools when I sent her the school fees. I begged the school principal to admit them as they will come to stay with me. The children were admitted under my name although we had a agreement that she will pay the fees for 1. The whole year I was diligently paying my school fees for the one and I'm up to date with payments and never skipped. So now because I applied for them am I the only 1 responsible for that account? And she will get off scott-free? Attorneys will execute a garnish order in court maybe soon. Can I go to court and explain my situation if such order is been pursued by the Attorneys? I'm really sad about this as my child is caught in the middle and worried about her future at the school. I'm also currently under debt review but am trying my best to keep up with payments and to provide for my girls. Your advise will be highly appreciated.
