Dear Sir/Madam,
Please advise me or mail me the law on the level of noise allowed in a complex (block of flats) and the caretakers involvement. The caretaker is the only complainee with no other complaints. Times when noise levels must be stopped etc.
For more insite: I am a landlord, who lives next door to the property (flat) that I rent out. The caretaker lives directly below my rented flat. He has complained about noise from my tenant and on investigation with my tenants front door open I can hear no noise. no one else including myself (next door) has complained (or heared any noise). The caretaker says it is the bass that he hears. Is their a decibal reading that is in place for level of noise? If so how does this reading change over times? Example before 10 pm and after?
Generally speaking the caretaker has a reputation of complaining "unneccessary" and has upset a lot of tenants with what they consider unneccessary complaints due to "normal" noise levels.
I want to handle this as delicately as possible but need facts in order for me to talk to the caretaker to point out my rights and his duties.
