Question posted in the General Law category relating to Western Cape
Hi.
We run a photography business with a Studio. Most of our clients are once off clients.
In general we insist on payment before shoots, but sometimes potential clients insist on paying on the day.
Not to loose business we agree to that, and then they just dont show up. We incur cost for paying contracted photographers to be onsite at that time, and posters etc we have to premake on some orders.
Are there any legal routes one can take to bill these clients for missed bookings, or should we just not accept booking without a deposit? Our terms and conditions clearly state we need 24 hour cancelation notice.
Your feedback in this regard will be appreciated.
Can you recommend a firm that will be able to draw up a terms and conditions for us in the event that it is legal in South Africa to charge for missed appointments?
