Good day

I have a query regarding a court order document.

I received a document written Draft Order but the word "Draft" is stroked through with a pen, the judge's initials and a sheriff stamp are put next to it. Does this make it a valid Order?

Yes, that makes it a valid order.

The word "draft" is put before the word "order" because the advocate does not want to be presumptuous. The judge then crosses out the word "draft", and initials next to it, or the top right hand side of the order.

The order is then signed by the Registrar of the Court on the last page, and stamped.

It is then an official court order.
