Good day

Kindly advise, my employer states that i may not apply for any other job thats the same as current.

Im employed as an personal and administrative assistant for a debt Counselling firm.

My  contracts states i may not work for another sc firm within a 100 km radius for 12 months.

I really feel that it is unnecessary for the period of 12 months as well as the town we reside in is relatively small.

This is only my second job since matric and i fear that i might miss an opportunity due to what stated in my contract.

The little reseach iv done says a 6 month period is more acceptable than 12 months.

And if i do find new employment in the same line will i be taken to court?

Is it at all legal to prohibit me from a job?
