hello. I was arrested in 2019 for shoplifting. I was 18 at the time. It was my first offence. I had to appear at court, and i plead guilty. I was sent for diversion which was nicro and community service. Once i completed my service i had to appear at court again. The judge told me that the charges are dropped. My case was withdrawn. I havent done a police clearance but i want to know, do i have a criminal record?

Hi there,

I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment, even if it is R150 or R200.

No, you do not have a criminal record because you were never found guilty and because you were never sentenced. Furthermore, the charges were withdrawn once you completed the diversion. Well done!
