Question posted in the Consumer Protection Law category relating to Gauteng
Hello. Last week Tuesday (06 August 2024) I bought a chocolate for my son which was marked down. I ended up not giving him cos he had consumed too much sugar intake. I then consumed it and it had some after taste little did I know it had expired on 16th of May 2024. I kept the receipt and the packaging as well and went to the store to complain and found an assistant Manager and apologized, she the said she will escalate the matter to the relevant parties though it wasn't enough. Today is the 12th of August and haven't received any communication from them. I feel like I deserve to be compensated for their negligence cos something bad could've happened if I gave my son that expired chocolate. They need to learn a lesson from selling an over expired product.
Please help me to know if I have a strong case against this Retail company or not. And what's the best approach to am this.
