Question posted in the Malpractice Law category relating to Western Cape
I am a web developer. I have been developing a site for a client. I started ages ago and am like 95% done. he paid a deposit of half the total amount. I charge a deposit incase people pull away so I have been covered for my work. he did not get back to me with feedback or content for ages. This is on him. when i was ready and had time he did not get back to me. he finally got back to me with content but a lot later than expected. during this time I have been very busy with other work so have not been able to attend to it. it is my fault that I should have replied to him. he is now asking me for a refund for the deposit for the half he paid. i am not paying back the deposit. the reason i charge a depsoit is because of this. i could have been working on other projects in the 2 months i spent on his site. is the fact that he is requesting a refund of the depost legal?
