Question posted in the National Credit Act Law category relating to Gauteng
I met someone who is running a forex business. The person ran a promo stating that if anyone invests R2000+ they would get returns of 50-100% in 6 weeks with 50% return guaranteed. I invested R3000 on June 17, Fast forward to today I still haven't received anything and in all efforts to get my R3000 back I've been unsucessful. I went to the police and they mentioned it's a civil case, and they wouldn't let me open a case of intimidation against him after he stated that if I ever go to the police I would never ever reveive my money. I know where the person lives and where he studies, so I want to know if there are any legal options I can pursue aside from small claims court as that would require costs like sheriff's fees and the up and down hassle.
