Question posted in the General Law category relating to Eastern Cape

My son is in a rehab facility in Cape Town.

He has already extended his stay there due to the covid-19 lockdown. His plane ticket back to Johannesburg is booked for the 20th April.

This rehab is approximately R100000.00 for 3 weeks, we cannot afford to extend it any longer.

The president has just announced a further two week lockdown.

How can we arrange for my son to fly back in the 20th and isolate with me. We are all healthy and have all been self isolating since before the lockdown.

Please could you advise me on who to contact for this special permission.

He also stands the risk of losing his job if he stays away any longer. He would be considered an essential employee as he works for a bank head office.

Thanking you

Hi there,

I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.

The lockdown has been extended past 20 April, so he is legally NOT allowed to travel to JHB then. If he does, he will be committing a criminal offence. He must wait until after the lockdown.

The only person who can authorise him travelling from CPT to JHB, is the Minister of Transportation.
