Question posted in the Immigration Law category relating to Gauteng
Hi there, I have delivery drivers that I would like to be in compliance with South African immigration and traffic laws. They are currently using active Malawian drivers licenses, though their work permits and asylum documents have expired. These are my questions.
1) Is it legal for them to still be driving, as the traffic law states that they have to apply for a South African license after being here for more than a year and they have been here for at least 3?
2) Is there a viable path for them to get legal status in South Africa with a South African drivers license given their current situation?
