Hi there,
I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.
There is unfortunately no obligation on the hotel to report this theft to SAPS.
You are the person whose money was stolen, and it is therefore your right and duty to report it to SAPS. You would do this by going to the SAPS station and opening a docket against the thief.
SAPS will then investigate the theft, which would include going to the hotel to look at the CCTV footage and trying to locate the thief.
The security at the hotel unfortunately are there to protect the hotel, NOT to protect you at the hotel.
